I've always been fascinated by islands - I love the sea so the idea of being surrounded by water appeals, as does the idea of a community living away from the mainland. I grew up in the South West but have a certain affinity with Scotland; my husband has Scottish heritage and some of our most enjoyable trips together have been in Scotland.
