Miranda Dickinson is one of our favourite authors, what we love about Miranda’s writing is that she always recognises the realities of the challenges that life throws at us, but she always builds in moments and signs of positivity. Throughout The Start of Something her sensitive touch ensures that despite the challenges that are thrown at them Bethan and Lachlan always find ways of meeting the challenges and finding ways of overcoming them. As a philosophy on life there are some important messages here.
There is also a very gentle romance building, using creativity and imagination Miranda builds a connection between Bethan and Lachlan helping them overcome loneliness, building hope, and ultimately the potential of finding love. The Start of Something is a heart-warming, uplifting, beautiful book. One of our 2022 Favourite Fiction Books! Highly Recommended!
