Why We Loved It
We love Ali’s writing, but particularly when she takes us to St. Felix. Although this book works beautifully as a standalone story, readers familiar with her earlier books will love the references to characters and secret places that they will recognise.
Ali’s writing flows very naturally and although there are sad moments, the way that Ali weaves magic throughout the book brings hope and optimism.
Her descriptions of St Felix are so beautiful and evocative that you will feel that you too have escaped to the tiny village by the sea.
A heartwarming, escapist summer read!
